Thanks Guest1; for that intelligent and informative series of posts. It gives a good explanation as to why there are ongoing problems to viewing Cam4 without ID registration. Your last cautioning posting about 'site's "wonkiness" is worth reflecting on in relation to security. The Ashley Madison security breach where 'punters' had their ID, and monetary details all stolen subjecting them to dark web and others blackmailing approaches was a severe warning. I really am not sure that this site inspires me with confidence and trust to reveal trusted data that might be of great value to criminals. Over the years there has been considerable unsolicited recording of cam4 broadcasters, without the company making any attempt to remove them. You often can find such recordings for sale if you simply Google users names from the site and associate cam4 with that search. All stolen from cam4 without them stopping it. If I can find it, so can cam4!! Leading one to believe there might be some parallel complicity in allowing the recordings. Another reason to be worried! None of the stuff falls into anything more than soft nudity and titillation but it would be enough to likely loose many persons their employment. The ability to show nudity without Government ID records does give a lot of people more confidence than opening up future potential problems. Thanks for your postings and time.

P.S. : cam4 is a business FIRST, guys, so it doesn't care about whether anyone is doing it for enjoyment only. As a business, they need to make money, whether we agree with that or like it. What is so self defeating business-wise to me is that new customers or relatively new customers (such as myself), who may have been considering doing token business there, will never get the chance to fully preview the set-up or may decide given the site's 'wonkyness' that this is too risky a venue. (it was only 18 months ago that they had a big security scandal and I had personal service lapses last year up to 6 weeks !!!) Hardly a way to attract new business if that is your promotional concern . . . . Really a shame! And a big loss for enthusiastic cammers. But, ultimately THEIR problem and $$$ loss, not mine or yours.

FINALLY: Because of the sales, they want verification of token people, so if something illegal DOES get past, the companies can wash their hands of it by reporting them to the INTERPOL. So eventually, no matter whether the program explanation is true or not, and while they don't have the population density of chaturbate, cam4 will have to submit to this review regime, too, or eventually be shut down. UPDATE 2/2/2020: So the following is the situation that I have been able understand concerning cam4 and its issues: Recently, they implemented a computer program to track free users who found a way to illegally upgrade their status to Gold Membership and shut them down. Unfortunately, something went wrong and the program is tracking people who have a similar algorithmic base, regardless of whether -- or not --they were actually involved in the same activity. As a result, ALL non-token payers were mistakenly shut down across the board. The IT Support has repeatedly assured me that they are indeed working on it, but have no idea how long it will ultimately take. It's got to be something like this otherwise, why would they so haphazardly put their business in such jeopardy and daily loose so much $$$$$$? (Which must be happening)

Hi str8-jerker,
I am surprised that a website that has been running for at least 18 years (it was running in 2008 when I joined) cannot fix an error message if it wanted to! They certainly could find the expertise if they wanted to, to fix it. My guess it it is deliberate for the mean time. They may be monitoring how many existing accounts get verified! You can also notice that the error of online broadcasting still shows, even though someone is now off line and the site time of 'last broadcasting' is not accurate. This was pointed out earlier. Guess they are running 'Their Site' how they want to!
It is very noticeable that many of my regular broadcasters are not camming here at their usual times.

At present to use cam4 and broadcast your own cam you have to show government ID.
If you open your cam without this authorization you cannot chat in your own room. You can
chat in other rooms but they will not be able to chat in yours. This is a recent change on the site and associated with the error messages that show up when you visit anyone who has not been authorized. Such cams show (0) viewers. You can always visit Cam4 as a voyeur for viewing without ID, but that is without opening up your own cam. There are many sites that allow that, or even visit with 'incognito browsing'. For str8_jerker, I am not sure if there are many str8 sites that allow cam broadcasting without ID, which I am sure you are interested in. For gay guys there are lots of small sites that allow broadcasting without government ID but they are only findable if you are gay with a gay profile.

Glad you were able get some value out of tokens So Bad before flying away. I can understand your frustrations. Yes Guest1 there is a problem with links and real time 'on-line' appearing and then the link takes one to an 'off-line' profile. If you check on their profiles you will see that perhaps they were on earlier. It seems a pretty simple C4 thing to fix, if the server is on the wrong time and then giving the wrong live link. Almost everyone I talk to tell me they think C4 is getting worse and worse so going elsewhere to sites that work.

1/27 UPDATE: As of this morning, I am able to again completely access SOME rooms which I previously hadn't in the last 9 days. However, my Favorites and Friends list is actually only showing 2/3 to 1/2 of the broadcasters listed. Instead of going to a broadcast I am taken to their profile page over and over. In broadcasting myself, it also appears that my room is not being seen either. . . hard to tell.

Yes oink, I've just heard of a similar bank card experience with a friend who is on bateworld which is considered one of the more secured of these sites. He went through hell getting it corrected and it happened just within the last three months.

Thanks Guest1, it does sound as though they are have multiple problems.
They may sort out the payers first! Site still has multiple people on cam, from my fav list who appear with a (0) and one cannot chat to them in their rooms. The site probably knows the longer they have this problem the more visitors they will loose. Like you I abandon a site if it does not work or I have to pay or verify. Bad experience with at least one where my bank details had been stolen. At least my bank phoned me up to tell me. I rarely find any need to return.

UPDATE: Just spoke with a dues paying cam4 Gold Member / token buyer that he too has not been able to fully access. So, it isn't just non-token buyers after all. Sounds like a technical glitch like I experienced last year. The question is: How long will it last? It took me 6 weeks to be able to fully access the last go around February-March 2021. Hope it isn't that long again :(

DITTO for me about all recent posts previously concerning cam4 being down. After a horrendous 6 week long access problem LAST january, I had 10 months of problem-free broadcasting and now THIS! It is frustrating to say the least. Please keep alerting the IT . That's what I did lat year POLITELY and eventually the situation was corrected / corrected itself. I'm wondering if "oink" (below) isn't onto something about the submission of IDs. All the Adult content sites are now doing this including things like xhamster. xtube was closed down several months back. It's the way chaturbate went last year.

SUGGESTION: Try a full re-set of your router.
If that doesn't work and the router's 5-6 years old, it may be time for a new one. I ended up with a new upgrade and was immediately able to re-access cam4 fully after 6 weeks of the exact troubles described here.

hi i keep having sma eproblem on/off like there is this period of days or even weks when cam4 simply wont load. For whatever wierd reason, what worksd for me is to close all browsers, start VPN, like NordVPN (i use bitdefender vpn) and cam4 loads no problem. sometimes when you try to find some wierd alternative address on google it works through it, e.g. random user

has nothing 2 do with flash yes thay end the up dates but cam 4 cam 7 worked before and still dose i think thay got bug problem because thay lost info and login details and emails off members hakes website

There IT wanted to get into my computer remotely to figure out the problem ---
Like I'm really going to allow that after they're losing my communications and an over two week wait before I was taken seriously . . .
My response that "Don't you think it's odd that 5 people, within the same week, all had exactly the same problem (and still do) points to an issue at home base?"
There was no response.
A manager did admit earlier that conversion from the loss of Flash Player was still not totally 'fixed'.
That sounds more like it to me.

I'm glad you and others are posting here. I'm posting at other sites i find under the search "can't access cam4" there are others recently experiencing what we are --- it's not just us. I also contacted an IT and she's working with me.
They lost all of my reporting back twice because emails aren't being returned to where they've been addressed.
There are quite a few technical problems at the site it seems.

That's what happens when I DO get in which is about once every 2 days --- it lasts approx. 20 minutes and then deteriorates. Then I can't get back in for another 48 hours or so.
I know I should just let it go but its just infuriating -- LOL!

I started there mid January 2021 and had two weeks without a hitch. Then the problems i described previously started to crop up the first days of February. The IT was pleasant but I get the feeling they don't know what to do. My internet diagnostic service says the issue is definitely on them and some flaw that remains unaddressed in their programming. Acquaintances there tell me they recently switched servers after a security breach, and that's probably where the problem lies.
I've posted my experience on several of these sites. Maybe they'll pay attention and do something about it.

Glad I did not decide to become involved as a paying customer. I'm finding a series of posted horror stories from them as well. They can't all be inaccurate. Sounds like there are a lot of interior troubles at that site. Too bad.

Tried different browsers -- 5 in all -- the same story.
Did manage a half hour broadcast -- the longest I've had in two weeks --- and then the same end result. Thanks GUEST for your entry. On other "Is the site down or is it just me" -- type sites I've read similar entries going back to October 2020. I'm now GUEST 1

After a great 2 week start, I'm having the same cam4 problem as previous posters and have for the past two weeks. I tried all the solutions their Tech page suggested and everything checked out fine. I contacted cam4's IT five days ago and responded with info they needed and nothing has changed. On the rare times I do get in, I broadcast for about 5 minutes, then chat text goes down, and the screen freezes and/or goes black (my visitors tell me) At that point the whole thing turns 'sluggish" and begins to shut down --- really frustrating! I've never had this problem from any other site of any kind and definitely not from their main competitor. It looks like the site is the problem's source as it has something to do with the interfacing that is not complete. Any solutions yet anybody? I sure like to hear so I can get back on and continue Please post here if u find anything out -- much obliged!
