Website search feature messed up and not working properly!

Search feature not working again. This makes 2 months of it being all messed up. Last time I had to open the website on my computer and then open the phone app and would have to shop on the phone app and all the products would show up in the cart on the website. It was just plain insane. Been shopping with Safeway a long long time, my dad worked for them and my mom always shopped at Safeway as I did as a young woman starting out on my own shopped there. I think after all this time and so many complaints that it is time to find another store. I just want to get on the website get my shopping done and on to other things. This is too much of a struggle for anyone to deal with. Safeway wake up and smell the coffee.

Trouble with app

For 2wks Safeway app for pickup service has been horrible. To the point of it no longer working on laptop, can’t even sign in. On iPhone it will no longer offer substitutions or prefererences and won’t let me place an order for pickup. I am now trying with iPad and the same thing is happening. It worked perfectly for me until 2weeks ago. I have been using the app and pickup service since 2020. What changed?

Can load groceries in the cart, but can't check out

I'm able to load groceries into my online cart, but the thing crashes after I type in my credit card info and click continue. It pops up a message saying "We've missed you" and asking me to log on again. Whereupon the page is wipe out and I have to start over with my credit card info. Repeat, etc.

Day 3 trying to place an order for delivery. No products load when doing a search for items says there are no items listed for something like Milk. This is ridiculous. Have not had a problem for over a year placing an order and now you cant even place one. I am handicapped in a wheel chair and cannot get to the store to shop, Why are you not maintaining your website? Tried to use my phone app and the same garbage going on with the app as well. will not let me log in and then finally when I get logged in it will not load any grocery items that I put in the search bar feature. for 3 weeks I have not been able to use Safeway for U and today 1/24/24, I can't log in to Safeway at all. Also, the Safeway ad that comes in my newspaper is totally different than the ad that you

Safeway App Stopped Workng on January 17, 2024

Safeway app on my android phone stopped working today. The app opens for a fraction of a second and then stops. I cleared cache and data , uninstalled the old app and installed the updated app, checked network permissions, my Internet connection is fine, restarted the phone, installed the app on another android device. Nothing worked.

Safeway App not working

Safeway app just stopped working after working well for 12 years. Went to acess it today it tries to open up but then just exits unexpectedly. Tried everything, deleted all App storage, uninstalled the old app, installed the updated app, checked phone and internet links, dates and times, restarted the ohone a few times, checked that their website is up and it is. Bug in App

Message pop-up states there is a bug in the App and it cannot be launched. Recommends to clear cache, which I did, but then states I have to reinstall after the App has been updated to fix the bug. Note, my android system updated this morning so this could be part of the issue; however, I have no problems with other apps.

The app SUCKS.
The website isn’t much better.

I get overcharged randomly all the time and have to call customer service over & over to get my money returned to me.

Items said to be in stock are NOT,

I put No Substitutions in my orders for everything
but then have many of my items substituted with more expensive ones.

I have plenty of $ on my EBT card for eligible products,
but when I try to check out
it tells me I can’t use my EBT for the full order and must pay the remainder using my debit card.
It’s not because the items aren’t covered by EBT and it’s not due to me not having enough to cover it.
It is a repeated problem I get all the time.

The app is constantly broken.
Like totally unusable. Been this way for months now.

Oh,
and what the hell is with the
“Personalized price for you” coupons that actually increases the price
instead of making it cost less?!?

USELESS and ENRAGING

Chat customer service doesn’t seem to have access to help for many issues.

I’m about to stop shopping here altogether.

Seems like Safeway really wants an ADA lawsuit.

I know I’m not the only disabled customer who is sick and tired of having my $ stolen
and not getting any decent service.

Fix it or lose customers and face legal action.

Can’t check out using ebt for weeks on app or online, continuously asks me to log in when I click pay with EBT then says having technical difficulties try again later. Extremely frustrated. Cannot drive, I use delivery for everything. Need some sort of solution, it’s been this way for an extended period of time at this point. Logged out, log back in just fine then asked to log in again to check out for ebt, I’m already logged in. Uninstalled the app, reinstalled and still nothing. About to stop using Safeway altogether at this point.

Another bummed out customer

App has not been working for quite a few weeks. I couldn't scan an in store savings bar code, so I took a picture of it on my phone so the checker could give me the sale price. It's not fair to the checkers, but I bet if enough people did this with all their items that were on sale, it might get a quicker resolution. It would take a while to check out unfotunately. Safeway app not loading cart. Not loading cart page and not allowing me to add anything to the cart.

Called customer support two hours ago and they said technical support was working on the issue but also told me three times before we ended the call that I needed to check out within 2 hours.

I’m unable to do that. This is getting to be a ridiculous problem. I’ve done most of my shopping at Walmart for the past two months because of this but I really need some of the items I can only get from Safeway this time.

I’d shop in-store but I’m recovering from heart surgery so walking the store is not an option. My neighbor picks up my order for me.

And tell my most recent order placed on 10/17/23 I thought the service was great great savings reliable tracking this week the app has had many glitches there was an update which probably really screwed things up I placed an order 1017 for delivery 1018 between 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. I received a text that my order was canceled I am a fresh pass subscriber and called the VIP line they contacted the store directly they were told there was a it technical issue and orders had been canceled in error I was assured that they were taking care of the problem and that my order was being processed but it would be delayed and not delivered until possibly 10:30 a.m. outside my delivery window I made a total of six calls to the VIP line starting at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 8:00 p.m. each call prior to 8:00 p.m. I was told that they had my order they were shopping for it it was being processed they were waiting for a delivery person after I called at 8:00 p.m. the store said they didn't have my order at all which was mind-boggling sent five other people had told me it was in process then the last person told me I would have to completely redo my order when I put my order in again my coupons and bonus options we're no longer available and the order was going to cost me approximately $20 more I use EBT so I value every penny which is why up until this point I thought the 1299 a month was worth the expenditure so after I placed my order again myself the agent offered me a credit for the excess of the bill and to accommodate a flash delivery I placed my order for the second time Thursday approximately 8:00 a.m. order number 73327395 and could only get a 5 to 9:00 p.m. delivery window at 8:00 p.m. Thursday this is the second day all day I've been waiting I'm told it's out for delivery but it's late the last delivery update I received from the tracking link I was sent with 11 12:00 p.m. I then spent the next 30 minutes trying to contact somebody to find out what the status of my order was and how long I might need to stay up in the early hours of the morning mind you after tracking this order since 8:00 a.m. finally was able to contact the physical store who could not help me this morning the app has wiped out all history there's no way to even pull up my information on the app now nobody not once has follow up with me to give me an updated status either on the app or in person. 510 682 3934

The login system is crap! I don't know who wrote the login section of the website, but they should be fired! Most recent experience: they send me a code to my cell to verify me - I enter the code, and they system tells me it's wrong! I retry this about 5 times and it never accepts the code I enter even though it is the code they sent me! As an automation test engineer, I rate this product a big fat zero!

Next time you hiring managers hire for new employees, trying adding in experience with website optimization so us online customers can buy our groceries without it taking a century to load or substitution not saving or any other problems people continually bring up.

It will allow you to fill in 50+ fields giving your entire vaccination history, details about your race, gender, address, and your medical provider. -Full Cart Issue- There seems to be a problem with the "Full Cart" feature. It won't seem to save anything more than one substitution. Usually, you'd be able to inspect each item and choose a substitution or choose not to substitute. But now it won't save any substitution choice when using Full Cart. The only solution now is to use the regular cart, which is super slow, and do the substitution there. Safeway.com really needs someone to look into this issue and resolve it so it's easier for customers to use and so substitutions are saved for every item.

Website now seems to work. Cart is working again. Be aware of random Website maintenance, as this is why issues occur. When you're logging in, make sure your email doesn't have a space at the end because it won't let you log in if there is a space at the end of your email. Usually, a simple "del" button will remove the space at the end and you should be able to log in.

been trying to order for more than a week now on and just keep getting service error. ive called customer service 3 times they told me to empty my cart delete the app sign out everywhere then reinstall and that didnt work so then they said well you locked yourself out probably from pressing pay now more than 10 times when i had only pressed it a few times and said i have to wait 24 hours to try and order again. waited 3 days and im still getting the same issue and now all my coupons have expired. ive done everything they have said tried ordering from the app and even the website and nothing works. whats the point of having an app if it doesnt work? Using Vons app on Android version 12 with T-mobile, up-to-date with forced updates by the phone carrier.

Tried to checkout for pickup tomorrow with both ebt and debit payments. When trying to use ebt it asked me for login info. It wouldn't accept my email/password. Eventually I clicked an "check me out without email" option. It accepted my ebt info but would not proceed without email and phone number. Adding my email and phone number and clicking "continue" seemed to return to the "continue" screen. There was no error message. It felt like an empty return left in the code: all of my debit and contact info remained in the forms. When i tried to check out strictly with the app and my debit card, no ebt, it gave this error.

I have a Safeway Club card that is linked to my phone number, verified by store clerk. The card allows for store savings per weekly advertisement but the digital coupons don't take effect. The store clerk suggested to type in phone number at the register during check-out and the digital coupons still don't take effect. Walked over to customer service and they said "sorry", call the 1-877-Safeway number and report the problem. Frustrating! It's over for Digital Coupons at Safeway for me.
