For those interested, it turns out TF changed their password policy. I did not have a special character.
"Passwords must be a minimum of 8 characters and must contain at least one of each of the following: uppercase letter, lowercase letter, number, and special symbol such as: !, #, $, & or @."

The website hasn't worked for me for several weeks. I've talked to a tech person (not back end programming but phone tech help) and a regular customer service rep and neither person was very helpful. The tech person acknowledged complaints but they still haven't fixed the issue. I can buy what I need via the app but the website doesn't work for me at all.

I can get onto the Tracfone app, but I can't 'buy airtime for a friend'. My granddaughter needs minutes. I've always done it in the past. Now, when I tap BUY AIRTIME it goes back to the home page & buffers or just knocks me off the app. I've gotten text add-ons & data add-ons thru walmart.com. it is delivered digitally within an hour of purchase. If I could get the minutes add-on, I wouldn't bother with purchasing thru the Tracfone app.

Seeing all of the comments about login issues and other problems at least lets me know I'm not alone in my frustrations with TracFone! Lost service suddenly a few days ago and can't get any assistance. Chatbot is a joke and the customer service number has been having technical difficulties since yesterday 4/14/22. Moving off of Tracfone is as frustrating as the lack of service (no phone, no text). The run around is ludacris. The have not been able to: find my account, verify the card that the monthly auto pay has been deducted from for over a year, they sold me another sim card that would supposedly fix the no phone and no text problem, email to the verified on record email address has not worked and now attempting to change my service to another a carrier has become a nightmare. I can not begin to say how frustrated I am and have no idea of the total HOURS I have spent on hold!!

I also cannot get into my account or purchase air time. The recommended control F5 thing did absolutely nothing for me. This was the last straw for me. The Tracfone website has always been glitchy, but now it's simply worthless. I cannot even sign in or start a chat with the helpline. After 15 years with Tracfone, I am moving on to a different provider. Thanks, Verizon! Way to go, well, unless Verizon is trying to destroy Tracfone on purpose.

Three days ago I finally got to speak with Customer Service after trying the web site for 3 days. they could not explain why the web site wasn't working. I was trying to add another years service to my wife's phone and this was even difficult to get across to the Rep. I had done this for my Tracfone in March and the web site was complete different and easier to navigate. I guess it's time to search for another service.

Tracfone needs to be reported to the FCC (or other appropriate authority). The Tracfone website has obviously been hacked, possibly controlled by these "bad actors", and they're doing nothing about it. Putting a notice on the website doesn't fix an ongoing problem. I used the Chat service on the site earlier today and there were numerous red flags in my brief chat with them, it seemed like it was one of the "bad actors" behind the chat. REPORT!

I have been trying on and off for approximately 3 weeks to get on with Tracfone. I have been a customer since 2013 and have not had problems. Now when I log in, get a message that no transactions can be conducted at this time and giving an 800 number, which is just a recording. They did post a security alert March 14 ? indicating that some "'bad actors' had gained access to a limited number of customer accounts and, in some cases, fraudulently transferring, or porting out, mobile telephone numbers to other carriers". They also stated these hackers may have had access to customers name, address, etc. Tracfone site indicated they have tried to contact customers by email if it's available to them. Also stated customers should contact Tracfone if they experience any problems with their phones, such as an unexplained loss of service. We tried yesterday to log in again, but still cannot conduct a transaction, or even use the chat feature. The 800 number is still a recording. I hope this is helpful. We will try some of the suggestions we've read here and see if it helps. Thanks very much,
