Xfinity password reset issue is known issue

Xfinity has a known problem with servers that forces customers to reset their email password, but does not allow you to do it. Reset button goes to a screen telling you to call for reset help. After 2 days of trying, finally spoke to someone who confirmed the reset issue is a known problem and CSA department is buried with calls and working on it. Said holding for CSA was a waste of time. When it is fixed, we will know it.

They were pretty good for the first 3 years or so we had them. Much faster than AT and T Uverse and had far fewer outages. But the past few have been bad. Outages were much more frequent. During the pandemic shutdowns, I gave them a pass because internet traffic was up (obviously) and there were probably worker shortages.

But the issues persist today. Sadly, they are the only provider in that provides high speed fiber optic cable in our neighborhood, so we are stuck with them for the time being. I wonder if they know this and put maintenance and repair at a lower priority compared to neighborhoods with more competition.

12/7/22 Oglesby, Illinois, USA: Spent 3 hours today with XFINITY resolving yet another in a long list of "Streaming" problems. This one was telling me I needed to subscribe to TV channels that are already and have been in my Choice + package. Telephone support does not even have an option for "Streaming" so used online support to eventually get a call back. first agent was rude and gave incorrect advice then muted me and left call hanging. Other support person funneled me to automated restart of my internet modem which was unnecessary waste of time and once again phone call was dropped with no call back by agent. By going through phone system yet again, finally got agent that listened and acknowledged i was correct and reestablished the proper channel lineup.

Ever since my internet was "upgraded" a month or so ago, the speed has been slow, have intermittent connection at times and cable tv is slow to respond many times. I work from home and many times cannot use wifi and have to go hardwire. Program guide can be very slow to respond and channels may take several seconds to come up or the cable TV will lock causing me to reboot the tv box. I have rebooted my 6 month old latest and greatest router several times which does not help the problem. I don't even want to call them because you cannot get a live person or help. All they tel you to do is to reboot the router via automated response. In short, my service was OK until they updated their infrastructure, or whatever they did, in my area. Tempted to switch to Verizon but they aren't much better if at all. Would love to cut the cable but cannot put an antenna on my roof.

No Xfinity Streaming service on any TV - no matter the brand (Hisense, Samsung, Vizio) - Thanksgiving Day. this was not good with a home full of people wanting to watch football. Getting the same error message on all. TVAPP0500. Spent a few hours on two different chats with customer service to no avail but wasted time on the holiday. I was told it was an outage that would be fixed in four hours. four hours later it was 5 to 7 hours. This morning (Friday) still no service. All TVs and internet have been rebooted. Logged out and back in of each Xfinity Streaming app on each. No luck at all.

Customer service is terrible. The “chat with an expert” option gave me 2 horrible people. They acted like I was an idiot because I was asking them to help figure out why my new modem wasn’t working AND it took over 4 HOURS with them before they fixed the problem. Halfway it even dropped out and a new “expert” ended up jumping on and had to go over everything from the guy before. When the problem was finally fixed, I asked about options for upgrading my internet speed. The guy said he’d get back to me. After an hour with no reply, I asked if he found anything with no response. I waited another half hour with no reply before I hung up. And guess what, not even a week later my internet is down AGAIN!
