They made unemployment and pandemic assistance nearly impossible, had me going in loops with every application process, and have almost zero support. Right now, I need rental assistance, and they failed to mention that the deadline for applications wasn't just for tenant, but for property owners as well, meaning they can't log in or use the system. The website is currently down, nothing but a white screen.

This is a shame that this new system is supposed to be faster but it’s actually a joke! You can never talk to someone directly. They keep sending your application back for minor edits and just when you think you have everything, they send it back again. My application has been in for 3 months now, still waiting. A lot of the cases could probably move faster if they reach out to tenants/landlords directly for missing information instead of keeping application in review. A lot of people are suffering & the help that was promised is just not there!

I had the same issue. They will back up and pay you for all of the weeks just continue to file. We are eligible for up to 74 weeks now.

Gov2go down for maintenance. Tried to file on my Desktop and my iPad. The maintenance message also has a grammar/typo issue. Has anyone tried filing via the phone? Can someone post here when the website is accepting claims again? Thank you!! What happens if the website is down today and tomorrow, so we can't claim. Do they give us an extra day to file? Concerned.

PROBLEM SOLVED: The VEC is horrible and cryptic at best at providing updates. Like most of you, my ability to file Virginia PUA claims on GOV2GO disappeared about 3 weeks ago and I was forced to start filing by phone. Follow the below directions, and you will be able to start filing your claims on GOV2GO again.

Unenroll and then re-enroll into the new PUA weekly claim service. To do that, click “Profile” and then “Manage Services”. On that screen, click the service called “PUA Weekly Claims Service”. Then click the red letters that say “Unenroll from Service” and confirm on the pop-up that will appear. Once that is done, go to “Discovery” page and use the “Search bar. Enter in the word PUA and click “Search”. Click the green service that appears with white letters that says “PUA Weekly”. Then click enroll. The weekly claim form should come up automatically and if it does not, you can access the claim on the “My Events” page under today’s date.

Under this new service, called “PUA Weekly Claim Service”, you will only get one single event. Click on this same event each week (every Sunday) to file your weekly claims (dates are now provided by Virginia on screen when you file instead of appearing in the title of the old PUA events). There will not be a reminder weekly email.

I just filed through the VEC it set up differently the number is 866.832.2363 then press option 1 then option 1 again then option 1 again then follow voice prompts to file its almost the same as the gov2go site but a little slower and tedious because you have to listen to everything will see if it works come Wednesday morning!!!! Glad I came here . This type of thing has happened once last November to alot of us . Its concerning because we all need it. But dont panick. We all will still be good until September. We are gonna end up getting a mass email again with them alerting us that there was a problem that they fixed after we all start getting our weekly claims working again. I also called the 8008975630 number. But it wouldn't let me file. In fact it said I have no weekly claim benefits at all. That spooked me. That's when I googled this site. If its happening to me and it happened to us before I think we will be ok.

Hey Y'all! -- I wanted to share my personal experience dealing with this supposed "Maintenance Issue." The last time I filed was Easter, and was paid a few days later. Since this past Sunday 04/11, the first time I checked it since last week, I have gotten the nonstop loading. (Which never loads up). Website including App has not been working for the last week (from my end). I know some of you that this has gone on longer. No maintenance message though, no nothing--just nonstop loading. Very disappointing to see VEC just shut all of us out like this, and then offer NO solutions for any of us! No bulletin, no email no nothing! Shame on you VEC!! There are folks struggling here, and bills to pay! I read an issue about Fraudulent Activity recently, supposedly happened on 04/05, and while I agree that is something serious to handle--You can't just shut out the REST OF US FOLKS!!

Now, If y'all weren't aware, VEC has a Twitter Page @vaemploy and also a Facebook page @Virginia Employment Commission--Where they are posting regularly about ALL THINGS OTHER THAN UNEMPLOYMENT!! Plenty of people are responding to their posts saying the same things that were saying here, and they're just flat out ignoring us. So there's a start if y'all want to go chime in on their pages--Maybe if enough of us spam them, they'll do something about this. SMH. Governor Ralph Northam @GovernorVA also has a page on Twitter where he is posting regularly and says NOTHING about the Unemployment!! He really doesn't care either. Again, not surprised here.

I've also read a news report online (can't specifically remember which but you can find it on Google) That an Agent from VEC told unemployed people--*Those looking to recertify weekly* To do so on the phone instead (the main line @ 866-832-2363). But when you call it DOES NOT WORK. Clicking the prompt to ask "Questions about an existing claim" only leads to getting HUNG UP, as others have said and no-one answering the call.

And If you follow the prompts to just recertify, it ONLY gives you that option for PUA (So this may be good news for PUA Folks)--If you are not PUA and try it anyway, the automatic voice claims that "You are not signed up for PUA" and we must check if you are eligible. I haven't gone any further than this, so I can not speak on this part (I am part of the PEUC 2021--the most recent version). As far as "Initial Claims" for people I read that all of that has been rerouted to third party contractors handling that stuff. The Main VEC Web Page has very little information about any of this (Basically on their home page that there was fraudulent activity and that it is being investigated). But nothing along the lines of getting folks paid or offering some help to those who don't know! Makes me feel very helpless, as I imagine it does for all of you guys.

Just some information for y'all, I hope I was able to offer some of you help and some peace with this. I promise there are many of us dealing with the SAME ISSUE, and we are all just FED UP with these guys at VEC! Real shameful honestly, I hope each and every one of y'all get this resolved. I will check back in on this page periodically to see if y'all encounter anything different than I have, or if there's anything y'all want to share with the rest of us. That information can only serve to help all of us.

At this point I can only assume the site is down on purpose to bottle neck people to using the phone. I tried the phone 50 times in a row.
It doesn't even put you on hold it hangs up on you. This should be criminal.
