No service for 24 hours

No phone service yesterday, logged in and reported it. They emailed back that there was a widespread outage and they were working on it. 24 hours later still no phone service, tried to login to check support messages but that isn't working now either (there is a bit of text in the login box saying that they are having database problems - that is new and unwelcome.) Are they so hosed they can't even send out an email service update??? Good thing this is just our home phone and not a business account.
