NTL world email access denied

Today I am getting an authentication failed message for NTL world address. Has works pretty faultlessly for years!
Yesterday on a new phone I loaded Mozilla Thunderbird, added my password etc and it worked instantly, downloaded messages onto the phone.
Today it has the error.
Anyone know why?

SMTP access gone!

Every time I try to access my emails via smtp settings, which I have done for a long time, virgin media keeps trying to get me to sign up to 'Virgin Media - O2' and before I can do that it wants me to sign up to 'my virgin media'! I just want to access my ntlworld email address via my usual smtp settings! This has now been going on for a week!

Missing NTL email on Virgin Site Had two now one has disappeared, this afternoon!


message keeps coming up on Thunderbird telling me to put password in, everytime it comes up incorrect try again. It is correct, so I have gone on to the virginmedia site and signed in with my other ntl account, which went straight onto the email section, which is linked to the first ntl email is missing and now only shows one ntl email address! The other email was working perfectly this morning, so can only presume someone at Virgin has deleted it on their site!

Cannot access my ntlworld email via web or outlook. Registered through Virgin Media. Have been on phone or using rescue gadget literally all day. Can't access my work emails!!

Ntlworld email faults on Virgin Media

Other ntlworld emails are working but have one that is showing all the issues mentioned her. Error states: The entered credential or authentication information does not work or are no longer accepted by provider. Please change them.
Needless to say the entered information is 100% correct and has been for many years.

Virgin Media seems to have totally neglected email faults on their website. Everything but email is mentioned or linked. You have to use other providers to see if there are any faults. Really is a dreadful oversight of their system.

Been without our home land line for a month & not my ntlworld email is up the kybosh, partners email account can't be accessed error message & with no land line!! Sent two letters on the issues & actually received a reply on 25-10-23. [V/Media letter dated 19-10-23] An investigator will look into the matters but they have 28 days to do this! Wonderful, I don't think so.

NTL e-mail

NTL e-mail down. Try to log in and just get a blank screen with the word “Forbidden” in the top left hand corner on i- pad and desktop. I can receive on my i-phone but scared to do anything in case I lose them. Call centre as no help saying it was an outage.

Webmail is showing "The entered credential or authentication information does not work or are no longer accepted by provider. Please change them." against my secondary email accounts, although I can still access them through email clients Windows Live and Thunderbird albeit they're very slow.

Taking liberties with ntlworld.com email.

ntlworld emails are still not fully up and running after three days of chaos., My secondary a/cs are unrecognised on VM webmail. Primary a/c Outbox remains frozen on Windows Live Mail.
Liberty Global who own VM really ought to rename themselves to Taking Liberties Globally.

Broadband back but still got email issues!

Still problems getting ntlworld.com emails though Virgin media, have finally got broadband back today (Thursday 22/6/23) ever since it being down from Sunday 18/6/23 but still getting message on home page that there are continuing problems with emails that they are aware of and trying to fix as soon as possible but not giving any details or possible fix date - complete nightmare ???????????? come on Virgin - why are you taking forever to sort a fix. Leaving people without access to emails in todays day and age is disgusting for such a large company.

Not able to retrieve new emails after NTLWorld.com mail server issue

After more than a day (since 18/6/2023 about 3 pm) could not log in to the NTLWorld.com email account, I was temporarily able to retrieve emails, but I noticed that my last income mail was about 9 pm yesterday. By now (about noon on 20/6), I usually would have about 20 emails, but nothing at all even keep refreshing the screen.

I have just read in the comments section that Virgin are stopping the ntlworld service. I've heard nothing regarding this. If this is the case then I need to start to start trying to figure out how to use another email on my computer.

I am unable to receive emails on my ntlworld account. Apart from a Google email which I rarely use I do not have twitter or any of the other electronic communications. Don't get me wrong I like not getting all the junk and constant bombardment from companies that I am not interested in but I do require important emails. I've not seen nothing on the news

Ntlworld.com - on the way out?

I submitted a complaint to Virgin Media yesterday and received a callback just now. Obviously VM are working on the email issue, but the startling additional message was that VM intend to withdraw the ntlworld.com email service in its entirety by the year end, and that users will be officially notified in due course. VM need to come clean right now.

Ntlworld.com is still down after a stuttering return yesterday evening. One of my accounts isn't working at all, but I can send emails via the smtp server from another account. The pop3 server isn't working so I'm not able to receive any email from Virgin/ntl whatsoever. Web mail isn't loading messages either.

Absolutely baffled !

2230 hrs. Email supposedly fixed according to Virgin but is still not working. Changed my password and done everything that Virgin's awful, confusing and circular Help suggests. They claim there are no problems in my area and in the next breath tell me that email is unavailable.
I am lost, I do not know what to do next.

I believe part of the issue is fixed as it does now connect. However, there will be a lot of email queued up which needs to work its way through their mail system. I had just one email dated today at 13:10 and I know there should be a lot more to come.

Too many outages., It takes VM an age to acknowledge they have a fault. There is no direct reporting option on the 150 telephone 'Helpline' and should you be 'lucky' enough to get through to the call centre in India(?) the operators just read some standard script back to you, change your password blah, blah.

Virgin Media's Abysmal Customer Service

Virgin Media's so called customer service is a joke. If you open a complaint, you have no way to answer to it once they reply. I have opened four different complaints now related to my orogonal one which was to do with a complete outage for a week, I had a lady call me two days running assuring me she was looking in to compensation, then I heard nothing ever again. Each time I opened a complaint they replied (probably computer generated) that there was no outage reported in my area. I was not saying there is, I was saying there was back in April and that I have heard nothing ever since. Because the complaint is closed when they answr, I have to open another one referring to that last one and so it goes on. Absolutely abysmal service

Ntl email account fails to connect, been like this since 22.30 18th June 2023 and still like it today 19th June 2023 at 12.10.
Not receiving emails from gov.uk or my hospital appointments.
Come on virgin get your act together!

It's being worked on.

Apparently they will have the service back around 1400/1430 at current estimation. They have been working on the service outage all morning. I was on hold to Virgin Media for about an hour!

My main ntlworld email account not working since 5/6/23.
Helpline said it was locked and could take 5 days to sort out.
Took 3 hours and 3 different customer services reps to tell me that!

Cannot access ntlworld emails . Like others have stated get message Account error, no password provided for ntlworld. Never had a problem previously. Contacted Virgin, frustrating the guy couldn’t help and he raised a ticket could take 5 working days to resolve!!
