when I call the website help phone says open on Sunday beginning at 12pm

I have repeatedly called the help number listed on ncdes website 888-737-0259. The recording says they are open on Sunday beginning at 12pm. After their recorded announcements about when they are open all I hear- "I cannot hear you" about" 3 times, then they disconnect.

NC DES website down for Maintenance

Have not been able to certify for my weekly certification I keep getting told that the website is down from 11pm-3am EST everyday and I have been going on the website to attempt to log in with no success and keep getting the website is down for maintenance error for two days From Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Tried logging in just now. A “Covid” message popped up saying the system will be unavailable daily from 11 pm -3 am for the foreseeable future for maintenance. SMH

Received this email on 10/28/22. Clearly they are having serious issues. Wish there were more transparency, or phone numbers with recorded updates so we'd know progress is being made/estimated completion/alternate filing instructions, etc.

Employers:
The N.C. Division of Employment Security’s online remote tax filing system is temporarily unavailable due to required system maintenance. Because employers cannot currently access their online accounts, the Oct. 31 deadline for making unemployment insurance tax payments and filing your Quarterly Tax and Wage Report has been extended to Nov. 15, 2022.

Need to file payroll reports for several companies as an accountant, and every time I try to log in, I'm getting a message that it has timed out because it took too long to respond. Site cannot be reached. I know the deadline was extended, but it's November and the issue is still persisting, so what good does extending the deadline do if you're still not going to fix the website to be able to file reports? VERY FRUSTRATING! Do better NCDES.

Can’t ever EVER log in. So I haven’t yet in two weeks done a certification. This is Ridiculous. Unemployment benefits are already ridiculously low, so why is the website ridiculously hard to maneuver?

You can’t get through, when applying weekly certification hard to reach them. Now case settled they send a notice says check on website well they have changed that and want to go through another identification process and it is now 1000 times worse. So I just quit trying. Can’t call must have three people on their payroll now. Our governor needs to look into it if he cares about people.

It is very suspicious that the online site and app is showing no 2021 information just 2020, all the correspondence for 2021 is gone, payments gone, eligibility gone, and it says now I am on PUA when I am actually and always been on UI.

North Carolina unemployment website says that we have to go on to NC Works (a job search website) and register and update your resume to get your unemployment check. Well, I have been on NC Works since I started getting unemployment and I updated my resume just a week and a half ago. I still can't file my weekly certification so that I can get my unemployment money! ????

I have been trying to deal with these people since the middle of yesterday afternoon. I waited in the chat queue for 3.5 hours and there was a 7 hour and 55-minute wait to call and speak to someone. Now today the page isn't working at all and I assume if I can get through with the questions I need to provide work search information, I won't be able to get that either and so will the hell begin in receiving payment. I've been tryng to get into the des.nc.gov site since 6:00 am. They won't be open until noon and to call on the phone they are closed today.
